My 5 Most-Used Makeup Products

Hey guys, how are you doing? I know I haven't wrote a post in a while, I'm working on being more consistent I promise! I always find it interesting to see what makeup products people use on a daily basis, so I thought I'd share mine with you. Here are 5 of the makeup products I am currently loving and use on an almost daily basis!

1. Benefit Rockateur Blush

Ah, rockateur, my favourite blush! It's such a gorgeous rose-gold shade with the tiniest hint of shimmer. I think it's perfect for everyday wear and that's why I've worn it almost daily since I bought it. I love it!

2. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

Bourjois Healthy Mix is my perfect affordable drugstore foundation. The colour matches my skintone perfectly and provides a medium coverage. It's not a matte foundation, instead, as the packaging claims, it really does give you a 'healthy glow' without being shiny. It smells really good too!

3. L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara

I've definitely mentioned this mascara before in my March favourites because although it's a relatively recent purchase, it's quickly become one of my favourite everyday mascaras. It's really good at coating every lash and defining them without becoming clumpy. Yay!

4. Rimmel Glam Eyes Professional Liquid Liner

Now I don't always wear liquid eyeliner, but when I do, it's THIS. I love a cat-eye and I think it's quite hard to do with liquid liner, but if you find the right one then it becomes easier. I like this one because it's a no-nonsense brush which is very thin which makes it much easier to create a cat-eye. It's also easy to build it up which reduces the chances of your eyes being uneven, which we all hate. It also stays on ALL day.

5. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

This is a favourite in the beauty world, and with good reason! It's a very thick concealer which I use whenever I want to conceal blemishes and spots (a lot). It's definitely not for under your eyes though because it's very much a concealer, not a highlighter. The only thing that annoys me is that the words rub off the packaging and make it look messy, but I can live with that for the very cheap price!

Does anybody love these as much as me? What are your most-used makeup products?

The Body Shop - Haul!

The other day I was browsing online and came across a code that gave 40% off full price items at The Body Shop. The Body Shop isn't a place I usually shop because I think it's quite expensive for what it is. But 40% off is really good, so I thought I'd order some things I'd been meaning to get for a while and maybe some cheeky extras, so I thought I'd share them with you! :)

Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Mask
I'm always open to trying face masks, I'd previously heard nothing about this but I still thought I'd give it a try anyway. Vitamin E is known to be good for your skin and give it radiance. I actually used this mask this morning and it very moisturising like the name suggests, I like it!

Vitamin E Face Mist
This was a bit of a random impulse buy, I've never tried face mists before and really wanted to try one. When I spray it on my face it does really refreshing, and it smells nice too! It says on the bottle that it's good for setting make up too, so I'll have to give that a try soon.

Vanilla Body Mist
I've mentioned it before but vanilla is my absolute favourite smell and taste! I just love it. The Body Shop has been selling this product for years, I've owned it before years ago so I thought I would treat myself to it again, and I've got compliments on it!

Seaweed Clarifying Toner
I picked this up because I need a new toner and this one is for combination/oily skin, and my skin is combination. This one had really good reviews on the website so I'm excited to give it a try.

Tea Tree Oil
I have heard this stuff is brilliant for helping to get rid of spots and I'd been meaning to buy it for a while.

Watermelon Born Lippy
Mmm, there is no excuse for this purchase apart from the fact I love the smell of it! I've owned it before and the watermelon one is my absolute favourite.

Mint Lip Gloss
I don't usually wear lip gloss on its own, but I liked the sound of this mint one. I thought it would smell lovely like mint and be quite refreshing on my lips, but the mint isn't very strong and it kind of smells like a more artificial mint smell.

Hope you liked seeing what I picked up! Do you like The Body Shop? What is your favourite product of theirs?

March 2014 Favourites!

This year is flying by so quickly! I can't believe it's April already, at least we have Easter to look forward to next. I apologise for being so late with my March favourites but it's finally here. I've got some beauty products & other non-beauty products to mix things up a bit so I hope you enjoy seeing what I was loving in March.

Soap & Glory Fabulipstick Powdercoat Matte in Supernude - I actually saw a review of this on Beautician Views' blog. You know when you're scrolling through blogs and occasionally see a product that you just HAVE to try? That was one of those times, and I'm glad I did. It's a very matte nude lipstick that I wouldn't have thought to try by looking at it, but it's a really lovely nude. It also looks great with lipgloss on top.

Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Orange Punch - In March I really got into lip crayons, and this is one of the best. It's the most beautiful subtle coral colour.

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes in Extra-Black
This is amazing! It separates all my lashes and leaves them looking really defined. The title of this product is 'volume million' but I would say its best attribute is making your lashes look defined in a very natural way, which I love. There are no horrible clumps with this mascara.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette - Need I say more? My boyfriend bought me this as a gift in March and it's SO pretty! I've been having fun experimenting with all the different looks I can create with it!
Champagne Drop Necklace - I fell in love with this the moment I saw it! It just screams out 1920's glamour. Statement necklaces are such a lovely way to make an outfit and this is my new favourite. I got this from an online boutique called HugoSophia. They sell lovely unique pieces, they don't have an online shop yet but you can find them on twitter (@OfflHugoSophia).

Copenhagen Candle Company Mint & Eucalyptus Candle -
Found this little gem from TK Maxx and it smells divine! I've been burning it a lot recently. I've had a look online and I can't seem to find a website you can buy from, but they are probably pretty popular in TK Maxx. I want to try all of them.

Orange Is The New Black Season One - I discovered this towards the end of March when my friend played my the first episode on Netflix and the rest is history. I literally watched the entire first season (about 12 episodes) in about 3 days! So I guess it still counts as a March favourite! It's very entertaining viewing, it's funny and it deals with more serious issues. I love it when I get addicted to TV shows, and the next season is coming out soon, yay!

Are you loving any of these things?

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

It’s Mother’s day very soon, this Sunday in fact if you’re in the UK. Mom’s are amazing, aren’t they? They do SO much for us, they support us our whole lives and love us unconditionally. They’re just generally wonderful. With that in mind I thought I’d put together a few gift ideas on how to spoil the BEST Moms out there. I hope this gives you some inspiration!

Mary Berry’s Baking Bible, Amazon, £16.75 Do you have the type of Mom who loves baking cakes? I know I do! Mary Berry’s baking bible has some great cake ideas, the kind of ‘no nonsense’ cakes that you can source ingredients for easily and that taste great because they’re so tried and tested. Have you seen the Great British Bake Off? Mary Berry sure knows what she’s talking about. This is actually what I’ve bought my Mom for Mother’s day!

Teapot, Occa Home, £50 How adorable is this teapot? Most Mom’s love a good cup of tea, and this is such a beautiful way of serving it. You could have some afternoon tea with your Mom using it. If you think it’s too pretty to use, it’s also lovely as a table decoration. You can find so many different styles and teapots out there, there’s one for every taste.

Flowers, Bunches, £19.99  The old classic. Flowers are a beautiful gift; they make any room look brighter and more spring-like (even if it is freezing). Bunches allows you to order the flowers online and they’ll be delivered to your Mom’s door, so these would also be great if you live away from home. If you know your Mom’s favourite flowers, bonus points!

Original Artwork by Aimee Skillen-Thompson, Artgallery, £45 Is your Mom the arty type? If she is, she’ll love some quirky original artwork. This website displays a lot of up-and-coming artists work at affordable prices. It’s such a lovely unique gift and great if she’s decorating the house.

Thierry Mugler Alien, The Perfume Shop, £31.50 I got a sample of this perfume the other day and it’s SO lovely. I want it for myself! However it was the type of scent that a woman of any age could wear. Perfume is a lovely treat.

Ted baker Purse, Ted Baker, £99 I love this! The flowers are so pretty, it’s perfect for spring, albeit a bit of a splurge! You can’t go wrong with giving a purse as a gift because it’s sooo practical.

Harrods Harriet Bear, Harrods, £17.95 Awwwh! This isn’t any old bear, it’s a Harrods bear. It’s such a cute sentimental gift and would look adorable sitting on a bed.

Onesie, Simply Be, £35 I used to think onesies were a bit silly (I’m thinking of you, animal-onesie-wearers), until I saw some really subtle cute ones. This is a great alternative to a dressing gown and it’s great to keep warm because even though it’s ‘spring’ it does get cold here in the UK.

I hope this helps if you’re stuck for ideas! What are you treating your Mom to this Mother’s day?

Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons | Review & Swatches

Hello lovely people, how's your Monday? Good I hope. Today I thought I'd do a review of some lovely lip crayons I bought last week, which are the Bourjois Colour Boost lip crayons. Now I know I'm a tad late (okay, very late) on the bandwagon with these since they were launched last summer, but I adore them! I just can't get enough of lip crayons, I like them so much better than lipsticks because in my opinion they can be more wearable because you don't have to be so precise when applying them. I think it's a safer option for someone like me who isn't that confident wearing bright colours on my lips.

These lip crayons are in no way matte, so if you like a slightly glossy finish they will be perfect for you. They just glide on your lips so smoothly and make your lips feel moisturised as opposed to dry. Despite being glossy, they aren't sticky which is one of the best things about them.

On the tube they claim to have 'comfort and hydration' for 10 hours! While I don't believe the colour lasts that long, I definitely believe that they keep your lips soft and moisturised for that long, mine felt lovely for hours after the first application. A nice little extra bonus is that they have SPF 15+ which is great to protect your lips when it's sunny.

I picked up Orange Punch which is a lovely coral colour. I've been trying to find a perfect coral lip colour for me and I think I've found it because this is not too bright, it's subtle. Red Island is a very deep red. These lip crayons don't have any shimmer in at all which is quite rare for a glossy formula and definitely one of the best things about them! As for the smell, they just have a lovely barely-noticeable clean scent.

(L-R) Red Island & Orange Punch

How adorable are the names of these little gems? The rest of the collection are called Peach on the Beach, Plum Russian and Fuschia Libre. You can buy them for £7.99.

I have to say, for a spur of the moment Boots purchase I am SO pleased with these! Next I want to try Peach on the Beach. Have you tried these? Did you like them?
