30 Random Facts About Me!

So I thought since I am brand new to this and you don’t know anything about me yet, a list of random facts would be a more fun way of getting to know me than a boring paragraph. I actually love reading these lists about people so I hope you like reading mine.

Without further ado..

  1. I have a phobia of creepy crawlies and spiders in particular.
  2. I absolutely love baking. I like the challenge of following new recipes and the best part about it for me is watching somebody enjoy eating what I’ve baked. In fact, my career plan B is opening up a cake shop.
  3. I can’t drive and I don’t really want or need to learn just yet. But when I do, the car of my dreams is a mint green Mini Cooper!
  4. I’ve recently returned home from spending 8 months living in Australia (luckily I didn’t encounter any spiders). First I lived in Melbourne and then Sydney. I love the country.
  5. I’m pretty certain I will be going to university in September to study Marketing (eeek exciting!).
  6. I was a vegetarian for over a year recently. A dominos meat pizza was my demise.
  7. My birthday is on the 24th January so that makes me an Aquarius.
  8. I love reading but I don’t do much of it anymore. Reading blogs seems to have taken over, but I would like to make myself read more books.
  9. I hate watching sports on TV. If football or rugby is on, I’ll move to a different room. The only sports I enjoy watching is the Olympics.
  10. I am usually quite shy with new people but once I get to know you I soon come out of my shell.
  11. I love all animals but my favourite is penguins! They are SO cute. My dream is to one day see them in the wild in Antarctica.
  12. I’m not superstitious in the slightest.
  13. I hate tea which is rare since I’m British! But whilst I was in Australia I developed a liking of ice tea (I’m not sure if that counts as tea here though).
  14. I hate horror movies. Gore is fine but I don’t like the jumpy ones.
  15. I love Greece. It’s where I spent most of my childhood holidays. The people are so friendly and I love the culture. It holds a special place in my heart and I’d love to go back.
  16. I love theme parks and all the big rides!
  17. I never wear high heels because I can’t walk in them. I live in flats.
  18. I’m naturally a very messy person and most of the time my bedroom looks like a bomb has exploded. I’m working on it.
  19. Recently I’ve really gotten into film and cinema. So much so I nearly decided to study film at uni.
  20. I have a really good memory and I don’t forget much.
  21. I love travel and the top places I want to go at the moment are New Zealand and America.
  22. I struggle with anxiety in certain situations.
  23. I love swimming in the ocean and seeing all the pretty fish. I used to snorkel a lot as a kid. One day I will scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef! When I was younger I wanted to be a marine biologist.
  24. I prefer vinyl to CD’s. I have a load of records along with a record player that my parents gave me even though it’s really old it still sounds amazing.
  25. I have a soft spot for seagulls.
  26. I used to be afraid of the dark and I still don’t like total darkness. I sleep with my curtains open!

  28. I admire ambitious and positive people.
  29. Watching documentaries is interesting to me, especially the weird and wonderful ones like the ones on Channel 4.
  30. When I was younger I played the violin for about 2 years before quitting because I could never be bothered to practice. I wish I didn’t quit though!

So there you have it! There was actually only meant to be 25 facts but once I got started I thought of so many and couldn’t cut them down. I would love reading others, so comment below with your list if you would like because I'd love to read them. Hope you enjoy! :)

Rimmel ‘Metal Rush’ Nail Polish in Royal Blue – Review

So for my very first blog post EVER I thought I’d do a quick review of Rimmel London’s nail polish in the colour ‘Royal Blue’ from the Metal Rush collection.

I’d been thinking about buying a metallic nail polish for a while because I’ve really liked duo-chrome effect nail polish recently. I went into town yesterday with hopes of going to Boots to have a browse but it was closed (boo Sundays!) and later I just happened to spot this lovely nail polish in Poundland (of all places) for the bargain price of – you guessed it, £1! They retail for £3.99. These nail polishes aren’t new, in fact they’ve been out for a couple of years but when I saw the bottle it was like a shiny gem and I had to have it.

There are four different shades in this range; Royal Blue, Gold Save The Queen, Purple Reign and Pearly Queen. I like the names of these polishes, I’m sensing a definite patriotic theme from Rimmel here!

Royal blue looks like a mixture of metallic purple and teal green in the bottle and I wasn’t sure what it would look like when transferred to my nails because I’ve never used a duo-chrome nail polish before but it really did look identical as when it was in the bottle. I find it looks purple in darker lighting but the teal becomes so much more apparent in bright light giving an intriguing effect. It reminds me of that colour of petrol when it has spilled on the pavement, a shiny mix of colours!

The brush is the same as Rimmel have in most of their nail polish. I find it's quite wide and makes it easier if you're not very good at painting your nails (like me!) and ensures a neater application. So far I've been wearing this nail polish for around 24 hours and there are no chips and it still looks perfect. I did apply a base coat and a top coat so hopefully it will stay put for a while because I'm really loving the colour!

It's such pretty colour and I'm pleased with the £1 price tag! :)
